Report to Community 2020
Working together to meet the changing needs and aspirations of people in their communities
In 2020 we experienced one of the most challenging years in Bethany’s 152-year history as we responded to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Bethany Group 2020-2025 Strategy was launched in June 2020 after engagement with our service users, staff, and stakeholders.
We work with children, families and individuals in communities across the Barwon and Western regions of Victoria.
We’re reaching out in new ways to meet our communitys’ needs. Alongside our supporters and donors, we adapted to deliver positive, personal support in 2020.
In a year like no other, we adapted to support our community. Here are a few of our stories.
Despite the significant challenges in 2020, we saw growth and development across the Bethany Group.
The safety and wellbeing of our staff and the people who use our services remained our top priority in 2020.
The Bethany Group increased revenue by 7% in 2020 reflecting increases across our community services and kindergarten programs.
Bethany is grateful for the support of individuals and businesses in the local community, allowing us to deliver more flexible and responsive services.
It is a privilege to be living and working on the lands of Wadawurrung and Gunditjmara people. It is upon their ancestral lands that Bethany services are situated. We share a commitment to nurturing the future generations of the First Nations people in the communities in which we work. We also extend our acknowledgement to all other cultural groups that have contributed to the country we live in today.
